Leh-Ladakh top tourist place Contact
FlyWings Tour & Travels designed our package and we must say what an itinerary – every day was a mixed bag of adventure, fun, and spirituality. We got in touch with them through their website and it was an instant connection. They understood our requirements and we just set out on the most memorable tour of our lives to Ladakh.
Ours was a 7-day trip and we started from Chandigarh and proceeded to Manali. We had already seen Manali so did not spend much time there, with our only stop being the Rohtang Pass. We enjoyed skiing after which we retired for the day and the next morning we landed in Leh.
Leh-Ladakh top tourist place
1. Zanskar Valley
One of the most beautiful places in Leh and also the most desolate place, the steep terrains are covered with snow for most of the year. White water rafting is one adventure sport one must try in the tributaries of the Zanskar River.
2. Pangong Tso Lake
Most of us love the movie 3 Idiots and not to forget the place where Kareena Kapoor confessed his love for Aamir Khan. Yes, it is the same place – the Pangong Tso Lake. Situated on the Changtang plateau in Ladakh, this lake forms an exciting camping site and is a sight not to be missed at any cost.
Taxi service from Chandigarh to Leh offered by Flywings tour was not only comfortable but the driver knew the terrain so well that we no longer needed a guide.
3. Kargil
The second largest town in Leh, a visit to this place fills you with so much respect and gratitude for the Indian soldiers and you see yourself brimming with feelings of love for motherland India.
It is situated on the banks of the Indus River and acts as a transit hub to other cities like Leh, Srinagar, and Padum.
We then tried on some adventure activities like trekking and mountaineering. The gear and all were already provided to us by the flywings tours. It was a part of our itinerary.
4. Khardung-la-pass
Gateway to Nubra and Shylok Valley, this is the highest motorable road in the world. For adventure junkies, this is just a haven. It is a challenging but thrilling ride to take on and yes we did try and the experience was simply amazing.
5. Nubra Valley
One of the top 5 places to visit in Ladakh, Nubra Valley gives you a feeling as if you are in some Arabian desert and spending a night under the star-studded sky.
The two-humped camels are one more attraction apart from the majestic landscapes and the dunes. One can only say that this is the beauty of nature that we find deserts among the snow-capped peaks.
6. Magnetic Hill
We did not enquire about the science behind these magnetic hills, we were just amazed how a vehicle parked at the base of the hill with brakes unlocked started moving uphill. It was simply amazing!
7. Spituk Gompa
With Ladakh home to monks and monasteries, the Spituk Gompa monastery is a must-visit. Apart from the spiritual gains once make here, the beautiful location of the sanctuary is another attraction point.
The winters are, however, chilly, so better if you carry some woolen clothes and thermal wear.
8. Shanti Stupa
Shanti Stupa is one of the most peaceful Buddhist monasteries in India. One can enjoy majestic views of the sunrise and sunset and can miss the panoramic views of the landscape. Enjoy some peaceful and serene moments there and once refreshed you can head back.
9. Hemis National Park
If adventure and spirituality are what you won’t break off, well head to the Hemis National Park. It is the largest national park in South Asia and is home to many endangered species like Asiatic ibex, leopards, red fox, Tibetan wolf, and Eurasian bear. The pollution-free environment makes it a must to visit place when you are in Ladakh.
These are some of the places we visited while we were in Ladakh. Flywings tours were amazing – the tour package was customized as per our requirements, was affordable, the car rental in Chandigarh was clean, and proper services are driven by a licensed and learned driver who also turned out to be a trusted guide.
